The VanZantwick Chapel
The VanZantwick Chapel on Washington Avenue was established in 1926, formerly the home of a Grand Haven pioneer who helped settle the community in the 1830s. When it was purchased by Govert VanZantwick, it became the first stand-alone funeral home in Ottawa County. The historic building has been tastefully preserved and updated to include modern comforts while maintaining the charm of the era in which it was built. Classic and comfortable decorations in the chapel and the welcoming center will be sure make you feel at home.
Serving on school boards, church councils, and participating in the local Rotary Club, our staff at the VanZantwick Chapel are true members of the Grand Haven community, giving back in their spare time as well as at work. Their dedication to the community shows clearly in every interaction with every family that enters our funeral home. Thanks to our Sytsema-owned crematorium, those who choose to be cremated will never have to worry about leaving their professional care when they go with VanZantwick—we will be there with you from beginning to end. Our funeral home in central Grand Haven is the best choice for every family, burial or cremation.
