Sytsema Funeral & Cremation ServicesThe Sytsema Chapel

Sytsema Funeral Homes got its start with the Sytsema Chapel in 1929. Though it moved locations a few years later in 1931, both the old and current buildings were in Muskegon, the community where it all began with John Sytsema. The family lived and grew on the same block as the funeral home, literally serving their friends and neighbors in the Muskegon community. The funeral home even operated its own ambulance service from the 1930s to 1969. Since then, the Sytsema name has grown to mean the very best in funeral service.

The team at the Sytsema Chapel continue to remain ingrained in the Muskegon community through serving on church and school councils, participating in the Harbor Hospice board, supporting local sports organizations, and more. The strength of this bond with the community contributes to our unmatched personal service and compassion. In addition to stellar service, our facilities are the best for any funeral or memorial service. Our family-owned crematory offers complete peace of mind for those who choose cremation that your loved one will never leave our care, from beginning to end. No matter the kind of service planned, we guarantee full satisfaction.
