Oh my precious Aunt Petey...I have so many precious memories of you and Uncle John and my cousins..like Brad mentioned..all the good times we had at Big Star Lake as a child, Butter Brickle ice cream cones at the Front Porch, your delicious potato salad, but most of all..your loving, caring heart. This picture was taken when we were celebrating Mother's Day together. You were like a second mother to me. I have heard the stories about when you babysat me as a baby, you would take me and John for walks in a twin stroller and people would say.."oh you have twins!" You used to say I was the "daughter you never had." My heart aches to know you're gone, but I know that we will be reunited again someday. With much love, Jody

I took care of Petey at American House the entire time she was there. She could be a little rambunctious and I realized she was testing me. I called Carla up to see how do I handle he. I want to give her the best care. She said to sass her back. So I reluctantly did. To my surprise it worked. Petey and I became fast friends. Every morning she looked forward to seeing me. She always said that my care was just a little more special than the other girls. She sometimes had a hard time with her pills so I would put them in yogurt for her. Whenever I had my days off she was so happy to see me back again and would just hold my hand and wanted to hear all about my days off. I am going to really miss Petey and her amazing family Carla, Danesha and Darren. I wish you all well and healing hearts . Deidre Harvell

My condolences to Jeff, Carla, Darrin and Denisha for your loss. I spent a lot of time at the Marod's home in Spring Lake growing up as a friend of Jeff and Darrin's, and Petey was like a second mother to me. She worried about us, rightfully so, doing all the normal high school behaviors that we probably should not have been doing at the time. She was supportive and occasionally stern with us, and did her best to contain her three sons and their friends, not an easy task, but we all mostly turned out ok. I always appreciated her, and was happy when I ran into her on my visits back to MI. She will be missed. With love, Rick Browne

So very sorry to the family.
We met Petey & John in Florida we were neighbors. We did a lot together. I remember she would invite us to have her wet burritos they were so delicious. We played games shared many laughs. We had lunch with her last summer here in Mi. She'll be missed.

So many wonderful memories with Petey & John, especially of all the years in FL together. Had the pleasure of taking her out to lunch last summer with some old friends. Now you can eat all the ice cream your heart ❤️ desires Petey!! Because as you always said “ there’s always room for ice cream, it just fills in the cracks.”

Petey gave me my first "real" job at Front Porch in 1985. She and John became friends with my parents in 2002 when they lived across the street from each other in Florida as snow birds. Later in 2012, my husband, kids and I moved in down the street from them on Boom Rd. in Spring Lake. Petey was quite the lady! She will be missed by many. Our condolences to the family.♡

I first met Petey when I was Darrin’s first grade teacher at Jeffers back in 1974. She was such a positive supportive parent. Later, John and Petey became great friends of my parents, Larry and Jan Foss, and could be found most evenings sharing ice cream together at The Front Porch right before closing time. Petey was such a lovely lady. I hope everyone in that great group of friends is now sharing ice cream in heaven.

Our Aunt Petey,
Where to begin...So many great memories: sitting all us boys in front of the TV to watch the first ever moon landing; hanging at the house on Collins Lane; summers up at Big Star Lake with her famous "puggie pies" around the campfire; ice cream at the Front Porch and down at the Village on the Grand; her story telling at family gatherings (along with her amazing potato salad); her infectious smile and beautiful hats. I could go on and on. Memories that I will hold dear for the rest of my life. She was such a big part of my life and that of my family and our hearts are aching now that she is no longer with us. I really hope and pray that she is in a better place now, up there with loved ones who have preceded her.

I have so many memories throughout my life that Mrs. Marod has been a part of. Great memories of Big Star Lake, cards with my mom, camp fires. Front porch, waterfront, both houses, a lifetime! I am proud my daughter knows her and called me crying when she heard. Life gets busy and friends grow apart, but my whole hearted love and condolences to Darrin and Denisha!! I pray for you find comfort in each other.

Darrin and Denisha: So sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember all the fun times at the Village on the Grand and how gracious your mother was to us kids hanging out at the shops even when we were likely sometimes a bit mischievous. -- Christopher VanO.
