I have known Darwin for over 50 years. At times he was a challenge for me, but for most of those many years I was a challenge for him as well.
Darwin is my Dad. Had it not been for his influence I'm sure I would've been on a very different, and much worse, path.
He took care of us all, without complaint, sometimes working three jobs and driving 60 miles round trip through any kind of weather, to do it.
Beneath a gruff, opinionated exterior beat a heart of gold who whould never hesitate to go the extra mile and much more for his family or anyone who needed him.
There is nothing I can say here that will truly reflect the gratitude and appreciation that I would like to express to him, now that it is too late.
If you love someone and haven't told them - don't wait.
If you have someone to thank and haven't - don't wait.
Life is fleeting and will not wait for us to do whatever it is we're putting off. Do it now. The time is coming when it will be too late.
I'm going to miss my Dad, but I'll bet he's keeping busy even now. (Probably pressing to install some kind of Heavenly Portico!)
God Bless you Dad and . . .
Thanks!##imported-begin##David Erickson##imported-end##
