Mrs. Edna D. Richard's Obituary
Mrs. Edna D. Richard, age 97, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2014. She was born January 22, 1917 in Milwaukee, WI to Sherman and Minnie (Olshefski) Lathrop. Mrs. Richard worked for Etterman’s Grocery Store for 37 years before retiring and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. On June 20, 1936 she married Charles M. Richard at Saint Jacobi Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1998. SURVIVORS include her son, David (Rochelle) Richard of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Christine Richard of Daytona Beach, FL, Todd Richard of Everett, WA, David (Sherah) Richard of Grand Rapids; 2 great-grandchildren, Emerson Reeh Richard and McKenna Avery Richard both of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lila Kluka and Shirley Lathrop. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Hospice of North Ottawa Community Hospice House for the wonderful care Edna received over the past 6 months while in their care. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Appold officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
