Jane was my sister-in-law. I was blessed to have known her for over 29 years. She was one of the most kindest and giving people I’ve ever meant. She always put others before herself. One of my fondest memories of Jane happened just a few weeks ago. My daughter recently had given birth to my grandson whom Jane had never gotten to meet due to her illness. My daughter and I decided that we would bring Calvin to come see her at the Poppen House. The first thing she said to my daughter was “can you show me his little feet and toes!” She loved babies for sure! She was so thankful that we had brought him to see her. She had slight tears in her eyes so I knew we had done the right thing. The next day I went to see her and she kept thanking me for bringing my grandson to see her and telling me that it made her day. This was a special moment I’ll never forget. My husband is Jane’s brother. He has many fond memories of Jane as well but one that stands out is when she got her first dependable car which was a dark green 1968 Pontiac convertible; she loved that car he said. He loved going to Duck Lake channel with her too. She will be sadly missed by us. Rest in peace. Love you forever, D and Sally
Janie was Janie….always the same: caring, thoughtful, strong, fun.
We were Peds nurses together at Muskegon General years ago, and an exemplary nurse she was!
I’m so thankful I have known Janie.
My sympathy and prayers for her husband and kids.
Thanksgiving she is safe and whole in Heaven.

I first met Jane at the old Muskegon General pediatric unit about 45 yrs ago. She had all the correct answers about a severely ill child that nobody else knew.
But there were a few things about the previous day she couldn't answer. "Why don't you know that, too." "I wasn't working that day." "Why?" "I don't work all the time." "Why, you should." and she walked away laughing. I had found my perfect nurse—great intelligence, caring, and not intimidated by a doctor. And I needed an office nurse.
She worked for me until she retired. As her illness evolved, we first banned her from lifting children, I gave most of the shots, and we got her health insurance. Eventually, I was blessed with another wonderful nurse, Callie, and Jane moved to desk work until retirement.
Now those are the "facts", let's get to Jane, the person. She was a world-class "giver" to anybody and everybody in need of anything she could do for them—that is who she was at her core. Always looking out for everybody. A truly generous and caring person.
The world has lost a prize, and she has completed her journey here with us but has moved on to what her faith has promised.
Bless you, beloved Jane.
