I worked for Lynn Palm in the UP … Lark Ascending was a favorite of mine. I knew how dearly Janet loved him 🥰

She took Lynn and I to the race track and we had a wonderful time. In the horse business we don’t often get time off. Lark Ascending was my playmate… he would stand freest ground tied while I would groom and wrap his legs… he would bend over and pull my scrunchy from my ponytail… And when I would look at him to grab it back… He stood there like a statue. Like nothing had happened… The little stinker! I love the year that I spent working and training with him and Lynn. I actually just two months ago found his Breyer horse online and bought it. So many heartfelt memories and I wanted to share with Janet…But Covid got in the way and I’m just so sad that I could not share these wonderful memories I had with her. I am so privileged to have been a part of her life with her horses and her love for her horse.

Janet kept things going while still loving to have outrageous fun. She told me once how she led a horse through a living room of someone's house. She was a conscientious team player. So level- headed. I loved her wit.

Janet was a friend beginning when we were both 3 years old. We were neighbors on Baker Street. She and I would head over to Mr. Whittaker’s store on Peck Street to look at comics and get candy. She loved her cat, Magellan. Liberty would pay Janet and me to stuff envelopes for Reid Tool Supply. It was done in their basement back in the early 1950’s. She and Kay visited me some years back, that year they were snow birds in the Phoenix area.
Janet, RIP, I will always remember the fun times we shared.
