I sure will miss Jeff W8KS. I always enjoyed talking with Jeff in the mornings on the radio. He would be in early with me. I was privileged to meet Jeff and Robin when they stopped nearby on their way to Texas. He loved that beard for sure, so I always kidded him about shaving it for him. I am so glad I got to meet him in person, and it was a joy to meet Jeff and Robin. Until we meet later, Jeffy, you will be remembered each morning my friend.
Going to miss you Buddy . Missing the daily phone calls and chatting on the radio. The ham radio picnic will not be the same .
Jeffy-Mike was my favorite way to refer to Jeff W8KS. Depending on the weather it would be "W8 Kicking Sand, if it was nice or W8 Kicking Snow if it was not! He would get on the radio and we had lots of conversations about his camping, Robin and anything else on his mind. When we talked about cars on the net he'd share his experience with his old foreign Citka or whatever that 3 wheeled thing was--normally when signing on he'd state he was "live in living color and commercial-free from the sunset shore of Lake Michigan".
I will truly miss Jeffy Mike--last year I'm so happy he was able to take the new truck and camper out to Texas for the winter. He'd remote into our net and tell us the weather and temperature and it was encouraging that someone, one of our own group, had nice weather!
Jeff was all about his family, he love them so much and they were his greatest treasure. God bless one and all you were the light of his life.
Rest in peace friend, you will be missed.
