Working at Bil-Mar Restaurant for many years allowed me to meet many different people from all over Michigan, and even the World. One of the friendliest and most caring of people I have met was Lee Blissett. She was always one to ask questions about our (the employees) lives and well being and quick to offer a hug.
My first experience of her kindness was many years ago when I was still in high school, and worked as a busser at the restaurant. I had worked all day as a statistician for the Grand Haven Wrestling team and had to rush right to work. She asked if I had time to eat dinner and I told her I hadn’t but (don’t tell Howard)I did tell her I was snacking all night on rolls and salad. She said she would not be able to go home knowing I had not had a real dinner. When Lee and Malcolm left that night they bought me a prime rib dinner, princess cut I believe, with baked potato and salad.
Through years of working at the restaurant I would get to know Malcolm and Lee a little better and I am glad for it.
There are not many people in the world as nice, bright, caring, friendly, compassionate and wonderful as Lee Blissett was. I am glad I knew her, and I am sorry for those closest to her for their loss.##imported-begin##Taylor Essenberg Hulett##imported-end##
