We are so sad to hear of Ray's passing and send you our sincere prayers for healing for your loss. We so enjoyed knowing you and Ray as our "seatmates" at First Lutheran and he surely will be missed. His sense of humor and great attitude made him such a joy to know. He will leave a little more silence in this world. Sending hugs to you and your family and friends.

The first time I met Ray was at SHOP GROUP [ Seniors Helping Our Parish ], at First Lutheran Church. The SHOP GROUP meets every Tuesday morning. At these meetings I learned two things about Ray. First, Ray had a deep love for God and his church. When he came to our meetings Ray always came with a smile, and a willingness to do what was needed to help his congregation. Like me, I think Ray always looked forward to Tuesday mornings. The second thing I remember about Ray was his love for his family. We always heard about his family trips down to Georgia and Alabama. When ever he talked about family he had his biggest smiles. However, he always let us know when Auburn University won their football game in the fall, because when they did he had his Auburn hat on.
What a treasure Ray was to his church. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us. He will always be a member of the SHOP GROUP! God bless you Ray.

My husband and I were neighbors with Ray & Dorie from 1987 to 2000
I had the honor of being Ray’s hairstylist for 32 years. When he came in, I think he wanted to hang out, like the old barber shops. My other regulars got to know him because he was so out going
I loved hearing his stories and we laughed a lot
He was so proud of his grandchildren and amazed at their success
I’m not surprised after reading all that Ray had accomplished and was involved with.
I know His life with Dorie made him so happy
Ray was such an nice man and we were privileged to call him a friend
We will miss him until we see him again
Heaven is a great place

Dorie- So sorry to hear of Ray's passing. He was one of my favorite ACS co-workers and he taught me so much. We both loved our fur babies so much. Prayers to you and the family.
