To the family of Dick Obrien,
We were saddened to learn of Dick's passing and send our condolences to his family.
We both attended school with Dick in Palmyra, New York and graduated with him in June of 1944. I worked in the Detroit Branch office of Garlock when Dick was sent out from Palmyra about 1953. We worked together for several years and often ate together. I was transferred back to Palmyra about 1955 and lost track of Dick after that. It was interesting to see that Dick and his wife were married May 3, 1958. We were married April 12 of that year.
We enjoyed the picture of Dick on the obit.##imported-begin##Richard and Marian Kirchhoff##imported-end##
He was a great man. Whenever I think of him, I always see him smiling and chuckling. That will be my memory of him forever.
I'm thinking of you all so much, and sending much love.##imported-begin##Kristin Smith##imported-end##
Aunt Barb and family, my condolences go out to your famly. As I have emailed Monica, he was a wonderful man. So great to his family, always staying in touch even though he lived so far away. He was also a wonderful uncle. I have pics of him with my two oldest siblings before he had children and he was just the greatest uncle, after all, we lovingly called him Uncle BowWow. Wish I knew why! Just know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. But what a welcoming he had once he reached my mom and family in Heaven. Be sure we will all see him again one day. Wish I could be there on Monday, will be thinking of you. Love, cousin Judy##imported-begin##Judy VanDevelde Carkner##imported-end##

Barb -
I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was one of the finest individuals I have ever met. He was such a gentlemen, so generous and gracious. I have so many fond memories of times with the two of you. Things like bridge games, dinner parties, Christmas Holiday parties........on and on. My life and the lives of so many are better because of Dick. He left a large footprint on this earth.##imported-begin##Karen Wildrom##imported-end##

Dear Aunt Barb, Monica and Bill and family. We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing. He was the last of my mother's family, now they are all together in heaven. Uncle Dick was a great guy. I remember him calling my mother and visting her when she had cancer before she died, she really enjoyed his calls and visits. She died in 1997. Rita, Anne and Helen, Grandma and Grandpa will all be there to welcome Uncle Dick. Sorry we can't make it to Michigan, but know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
With Sympathy, from Jean and all the Vans##imported-begin##Jean Van Develde Smith##imported-end##
Barb, Bill & Monica,Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of Dick. He was one of the nicest individuals I have ever had the priviledge of knowing. Dick was probably my Fathers best friend for many years and they will be missed dearly by family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face and rains fall softly upon your fields. And until we meet again may God hold you in the hollow of his hand". RIP Dick. I will miss you!##imported-begin##Kevin Crowe##imported-end##
