Sending my condolences during this time of loss. Frank
We were shocked and saddened to see that our friend, Terry Priest, had passed away. He was a super guy, hard-working, meticulous in his work, honest, genuine and funny. Terry painted in all five of the houses in which we lived, starting when he was just a kid of fifteen. He was not much older than our oldest son back then. He was with a crew of painters hired to fix up our first Muskegon home. Our son had befriended a red-tailed hawk that used to spend the night in our garage. One day Terry opened the garage door to get the cans of paint he'd stored there, and the hawk flew from his high perch, swooped past Terry, and soared up to a near-by telephone pole. "Scared the dickens out of me. I didn't even know that bird was in there!" he'd say when retelling this story. He enjoyed the families he worked for and we enjoyed his company.
Eventually Terry grew up, we got older and changed homes, but we always found a reason to have him come over and give our most recent home a new look with a new coat of paint. The last time he worked for us was not much more than a year or so ago. When he was done, had put everything away in his van and was headed out the door, he assured me that if I ever needed him to do the bathroom or match colors for me, just give him a call and he'd be over. Now it's hard to believe that we can't do that. Sixty-six is so young.
Our sincerest sympathies to Pam (whom he talked about a lot) and the rest of his family.
We'll miss you.
He was a wonderful person and he always loved to joke with people
We are so sorry for the family's loss and absolutley heartbroken to hear this sad news at the paint store. In the almost 20 years I have worked at O'Leary where Terry was a fixture he has always been one of my favorite customers. I feel like I know his family well even though I have not met most of them because he talked about them all the time! He was so proud of all his kids and grandkids. The last time I saw him he told me all about his trip to Kansas. He also was always talking about something he was planning to cook or bake! I will miss Terry very much!
