To the Draft family,
My mom, June Cavender, had good intentions of coming on Monday but her body was not willing. She remembers Wilma as a good friend. They cooked many soup suppers together at church. Your parents were a big part of growing up in Spring Lake and being an influence on me as a child at 1st Reformed. I took piano lessons from age 7 to around 9th grade. It seems I lost interest - at least in practicing. I still play and once a month play at a nursing home in the area. A talent your mom helped develop. She will always be remembered with love.
In His love, and my sympathy,

Every Wednesday for eight years, I would walk from St Mary's School to Mrs Draft's house for piano lessons. She always had a smile on her face and was so happy. She was an excellent piano teacher very kind and encouraging.I will always have fond memories of her. I still pass the house and look at it and remember.... I am so blessed to have had her in my life..........##imported-begin##Nancy ( Staskiewicz) Megley##imported-end##
When I was a little girl, I always looked forward to Wednesdays because that the was the day I got to hang out and play music with the coolest lady in the world, Mrs. Draft. She opened her home and her heart to me, sharing a love for music that I still carry with me today. I remember the fun recitals, my sister and brothers and I all performing at her house, memories I will always hold so dear. I will never forget the day she told me she couldn't be my teacher anymore... I was heart-broken. I didn't understand why. Then she explained that she could no longer challenge me the way I needed to be challenged. She wanted to see me continue to grow as a musician, so it was time for me to move on with another teacher. Although I was saddened to end our time together, as I know she was, too, I always admired her for putting my best interest before hers. That was the kind of lady she was... amazing... Thank you, Mrs. Draft, for teaching me how to tickle those ivories like no other. Maybe when I sit at my piano and play tonight, you will hear me up in heaven... I hope so... I Love You xoxo##imported-begin##Rachelle (Staskiewicz) Howe##imported-end##
Growing up in Spring Lake our families were very close celebrating all the holidays and birthdays together. Wilma was a wonderful cook and we enjoyed may great meals together. As we grew older and made several moves to other states and finally to Florida we still kept Howard and Wilma in our thoughts and prayers. They both had a very full and caring life helping their own family and many others through their church. God bless both Howard and Wilma.##imported-begin##Jerry and Terri Warnke##imported-end##
Linda and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. You and your family have my sympathy and are in my thoughts and prayers.
It is very obvious that both Mr. and Mrs. Draft passed on to their children their very best qualities. Your parents set the standards high and all of the Draft children met those standards and have achieved much.
You will have wonderful memories and know that your friends care so much during these difficult times.
Love, Mary##imported-begin##Mary Nutter##imported-end##
It was always a joy to have fine Christian neighbors in my growing-up years.##imported-begin##Barbara Kuiper Bloem##imported-end##

For years I did Wilma's hair at the Ladybug. We all enjoyed her very much, as she was always such a positive, smiley person. When my son was born almost 30 yrs ago, she & Ruth Klouw each knitted him sweaters, both of which I have saved, to pass on to his children, He is now a doctor, recently married, & in the next few years we will hopefully see his children in those sweaters! My husband, David, always had a soft spot in his heart, also, for both Wilma & Howard. May they rest in peace!!##imported-begin##Ann Fortenbacher##imported-end##
Our sympathy is sent to the family of Wilma Draft.
We learned of Wilma's passing from Gord Boelens when we met for breakfast on Saturday in Green Valley, AZ.
She and her husband Howard were dear friends and always so encouraging.
I told her often that she was truly an artist of quilts. In the late 60's when I was at the First Reformed Church of Spring Lake it was a pleasure to sing in the choir with Wilma. She loved her family, her circle of friends, the quilters, her church, and she valued and trusted the grace of God shown to us in the life of Jesus.
I trust the funeral will indeed be a celebration of her life well lived.
We send our sympathy and prayers.
As always, Peter and Judy Theune##imported-begin##Peter J. Theune##imported-end##
