Alfred “Al” James Joubert, Jr., born July 23, 1947 in New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 at home in Fruitport with his wife, Gail, by his side. Al was a disabled Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in several capacities, in RA-Armor, Army Reserves, and as an Army Recruiter. Al had a passionate love affair with ice cream, Good & Plenty candies, anything chocolate, and crawfish fettuccine, which his daughter, Stephanie (Todd) lovingly made for him frequently. He loved his westerns and Conway Twitty as did his constant companion, a yappy dog named Killer, and his granddaughter, Ann Maree. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, and a great Cajun chef! He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Catherine Joubert of Abita Springs, LA, son Brian, a native of New Orleans, and older sister, Teresa of Covington, LA. Al is survived by his wife, Gail, their children, grandchildren, and nieces. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Al will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI with full military honors.
