Arthur J. Katz

October 26, 1933 - February 6, 2022

Arthur J. Katz, age 88, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born October 26, 1933 in Kingston, MI to Maxwell and Marian (Pickup) Katz. Art was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the 83rd Guided Missile Battalion at Camp Hanford in Washington protecting the D.E.W. line. He co-owned and operated Royal Motor Sales with his brother, David Katz, for many years prior to his retirement in 2002. On October 30, 1959, he married Linda Allen in Muskegon. He was a member of Unity Reformed Church, where he had served a term as Elder and belonged to their Veteran’s Group. Art was also an active participant in the Muskegon Puddle Jumpers, Muskegon Country Antique Auto Club, and the Zephyr Owner’s Club. He loved and collected many antique cars over the years. He was a compassionate and caring person and was at his happiest when he was with his family. SURVIVORS include his wife, Linda; 2 daughters: Jill (Ken) Craigie and Jennifer (Max) Gamble; 3 grandchildren: Heather (Matthew) Reynolds, Geoffrey Craigie, and Zane Gamble; 2 great-grandchildren: Stella and Zara Reynolds; brother, David (Gayle) Katz; sister, Maxine (Robert) Meloche; 2 nieces: Laurel (Steve) Fink and Marian “Cindy” Meloche; 2 nephews: Andy Katz and Rob Meloche. Services for Art will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Unity Reformed Church with Pastor David Celeskey officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 PM Friday, April 22, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100.
