Bernard "Bud" McFarren

Bernard “Bud”Charles McFarren, age 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Bud was born in Muskegon on October 28, 1952, to his parents George and Mary (Buchholz) McFarren. After graduating from Orchard View High School, he went on to receive an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Muskegon Community College. After serving in the United States Army, he married the former Rosa Sahagun on May 24, 1975, and they spent 46 wonderful years together. Bud worked as a CNC operator for many years in various local shops, including AM-Store and Renk. Bud was a talented woodworker who built many pieces of furniture for his family over the years. A God-loving family man, he was a member at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church for 37 years and helped there however he could, including serving as a trustee for many years. In his free time, he loved hunting and fishing, and spending time up north in Walkerville. However, his favorite pastime was always spending time with his family, especially bonfires with his grandkids and feeding the turkeys. Bud and his clever sense of humor will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosa McFarren; two children: Bud (Margaret) McFarren and Sandy (Jonnatan) Gonzalez; seven grandchildren: Isabella McFarren, Dominic McFarren, Kalsey (Jonathan) Backensto, Monica (Coedi) Fluette, Alyssa Benson, Salina Benson, and Avery Cantu-Gonzalez; three great-grandchildren: Melody Backensto, Jaxon Backensto, and Leia Backensto; and brother, Fredrick McFarren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary McFarren. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church (1188 Evanston Ave), with VISITATION taking place an hour prior.
