Bonnie "BonBon" Ellman
February 2, 1943 - March 4, 2022
Bonnie "BonBon" Lou Ellman passed away unexpectedly, with her family by her side on Friday, March 4, 2022. Bonnie was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on February 2, 1943, to Morris Johnson and Margaret Nienhouse (Purcell). Bonnie graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1961 and worked for Northland Express Transport for most of her career. Bonnie cared deeply for Jesus, her family, and the people in her community. She loved to craft and was known for creating beautiful works of art, from cards to blankets to prayer shawls for others to celebrate special moments in their lives. She had a gift for making others feel special, important, and loved. She always had a big smile, a hug, a shoulder to lean, an ear to listen, or a prayer for anyone who needed it and gave selflessly of her time, love, gifts, and attention. She truly celebrated life, lived with purpose, and loved deeply. She was due to become a great grandma in August and was truly excited for that next adventure. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, James Ellman of Grand Haven; daughter, Stephanie Curtis (Randy Cook) of Nunica, four grandchildren, Alexa Rice, Logan Rice, Tristin Epplett and Emmalynn Epplett of Nunica; brother, Moe (Jean) Johnson of Florida and sister, Melanie Gee of Grand Haven and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Morris Johnson and mother, Margaret Purcell and stepfather, Robert Purcell. In keeping with Bonnies wishes there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of Bonnie may be given to Noah’s Project. please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemfh.com
