Mr. Brian D. Vredevoogd Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Brian D. Vredevoogd, age 57, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, October 26, 2019. Born in Zeeland to Clarence and Johanna Vredevoogd, Brian devoted his life to impacting the lives of middle schoolers. For 36 years he taught Bible and History at Muskegon Christian School and Western Michigan Christian High School and Middle School. He was a founding member and elder of Celebration Community Church. Brian loved to travel, dote on his grandkids, read voraciously, and extend hikes to fit in one more waterfall. He was married to his best friend for 37 years. Brian is survived by his wife Sue; his children: Joshua (Sara) Vredevoogd, Justin (Cassie) Vredevoogd; his grandchildren: Emaline and Chloe; his mother; his siblings: Rick (Dianne) Vredevoogd; Jackie (Carl) Adema, Paula (Dan) Triezenberg, Mary (Harold) Veldman; as well as many nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his father. We gather to celebrate his life, his puns, and his copious travel photos in a Memorial Service at the Western Michigan Christian High School gymnasium on Monday, November 4th 2019 at 11am. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s memory may be made to Celebration Community Church, Muskegon Christian School, or Western Michigan Christian High School.
