Coleman Hale Jr., age 69, passed away in Muskegon on December 19, 2021. He was born in Beirne, Arkansas on December 23, 1951, to Coleman Hale Sr. and Evile Mae Bell. Coleman moved to Muskegon in 1969, and after graduating from Muskegon High School began to work in the Dilesco Foundry. Coleman was loved by all, and he was a man of many nicknames, including “coach”, “candy licker”, “chuck”, and “crossing guard”. Coleman is survived by his three daughters: Dorothea Williams, Lakesha (Chris) Garner-Thomas, and Lovely Johnson; nine grandchildren: Zyariya Thomas, Amariya Thomas, Amoura Thomas, Antonio Thomas, Austin Thomas, Elexis Jenkins, Edriese Jenkins, Alayha Johnson-West, and Amyiah Johnson-West; and two great-grandchildren; ten siblings: Geraldine (Boazie) Winn, Patrick (Carolyn) Hale, Norma hale, Janice Hale, Angela (Geoffrey) Thomas, Dorothea Hale, Latrice Hale, Rowshan Hale, and Ricardo Hale. Coleman will also be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Tonya Branch, and their children Yolanda, Jasonn, and Regina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy McDaniel. A funeral for Coleman will be taking place on Monday, December 27 at 11:00 AM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with a visitation taking place from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, December 26. The family requests that all who attend the service observe COVID-19 health and safety protocols and wear a mask.
