David Edward Higgins

August 23, 1968 - April 4, 2022

David Edward Higgins, age 53, of Grand Haven passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 4, 2022, at home. He was born August 23, 1968, in Grand Rapids, MI to Richard Thomas and Nancy Jean (Kerr) Higgins. David graduated from Grand Haven High School. He worked in the boating industry as a fiberglass specialist and previously worked in Colorado and other Western states as ski patrol. David was an adventure sports enthusiast, he loved skateboarding, wind surfing, hiking and BMX biking. He was also a competitive skier, winning regional and state honors in grand slalom skiing. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Nancy Higgins; two sisters, Halle Warmington and Jennifer (Rodney Lundy) Higgins-Lundy; niece, Victoria Higgins; his rescue dog, “Seaway”; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Higgins on January 14, 2020; and his beloved border collie, Blue in 2021. A private family service will be held.
