Dorothy Mae Werner

Dorothy Mae Werner, age 84, passed away in her sleep December 17, 2021. She was married to her husband, Ernest O. Werner Jr. for 57 years, who preceded her in death in 2018. Dorothy was a graduate of Holton High School and Hackley School of Nursing. She retired as an RN from Hackley Hospital in 1999. Following retirement, she worked for Visiting Nurses doing flu shot clinics for 12 seasons. Dorothy also volunteered at Hackley Hospital as a courier and was a member of the Volunteer Executive Board. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was privileged to have been a member of short term mission trips to Guatemala Teams 1 and 2. She also went on a short term mission trip to Biloxi, MS where she served in a medical clinic following Hurricane Katrina. Dorothy was a member of the Vikings Linne Lodge 57, where she, Ernie, family and friends made many happy memories. Dorothy and Ernie were blessed with 3 children, Wenda Hanna, Daniel Werner, and Gretchen (Rob) Beauleaux. Also surviving her are her three grandchildren, Richard (Michelle Wysocki-Hanna) Hanna, Mikayla (Dan) Horrocks, and Scott Beauleaux; and expected great-granddaughter, Hadley Jane Horrocks. She will be remembered by her sister, Connie Musk; brother, David (April) Blush; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Hradsky and Marilyn Jesse; in addition to nieces, nephews and many special friends. In addition to her loving husband, Ernie; her parents, Clifton and Lovina (Vermilyea) Blush; and sister, Charlotte Blush preceded her in death. She was also preceded by brothers-in-law, Martin Hradsky, Leo Jesse, and Edo Musk. The Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church (3225 Roosevelt Rd) with Pastors Paul Appold and Dennis Lassanske officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service, from 11:30 AM -1:00 PM.
