Jack K. Krueger's Obituary
Jack K. Krueger, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at the Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence. He was born January 16, 1925, in Saginaw, MI, to John and Mina (Wiechmann) Krueger.
Jack married the former Wealthy Dalton on October 12, 1946, in Saginaw, and together they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2011.
Jack worked for Consumers Energy for 42 years, having started his career at the Saginaw River Plant in 1944. He retired as a Superintendent of Plant Operations from the Campbell Plant. His co-workers considered him the “Bob Hope” of the plant for his good-natured humor and his ability to put people at ease.
Jack was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven where he enjoyed serving as usher and greeter. Among his greatest joys in life were his love of boating, gardening, traveling throughout the United States with his family, and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. He rarely missed a game or school presentation. Jack was always of service to those who needed help and enjoyed volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Connie (Patrick) Charron of Muskegon; his son-in-law, Michael (Maggie) Burgess of Traverse City; four grandchildren: John Burgess, Andrew Charron, James (Heather) Burgess, and Jennifer (Matthew) Flenar; four great-grandchildren: Jack Charron, Adam Flenar, John Charron, and Abigail Flenar; and one brother, John David (Sharon) Krueger of Flint. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wealthy; his daughter, Wealthy Jean Burgess; and his sister, Gretchen.
