James L. Havermans
May 7, 1956 - February 12, 2022
Mr. James Lyle Havermans, aged 65, passed away February 12, 2022. He was born in Muskegon, MI on May 7, 1956 to August and Shirley (Kramer) Havermans. James was a much-loved member of the Egelston Township community and a successful business owner in the area for more than 30 years. He always woke early and had a strong work ethic; these values have no doubt been instilled in the loved ones he leaves behind. An eternal optimist, he always liked to share a joke with friends, and had an infectious smile and mischievous twinkle in his eyes. In his free time, Jim loved the outdoors, hanging out at the pool, boating, driving his golf cart, thirsty Thursdays at the Carlson’s but most of all he loved the people he shared these memories with. James was most proud of his family. He loved his children and grandchildren; family gatherings were a favorite of his. His laughter that was always present was contagious. He will be greatly missed by many. SURVIVORS: stepmother, Betty Havermans; siblings, Doug (Becki), Linda, Sandra (Ron); children, Heather Havermans (Nick Geis), Josh Havermans and Jesse Prester; daughters by love, Whitney Chapman, Morgan Bowen; special person, Ronda McDiarmid; his loving grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and loving friends, especially the Duffs. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and siblings, Ted, Nancy and Terry. A small graveside memorial will be held with immediate family. A Celebration of Life to remember James will be held at a later date due to COVID-19 concerns. Family members have requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Jim’s favorite charity St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as that was always special to him.
