Mr. James William "Jim" Terwilliger's Obituary
Mr. James William Terwilliger, age 61, passed away Monday evening, June 20, 2016, at his home, following a valiant battle against cancer. Jim was born April 22, 1955 in Lansing to Robert E. and Lu-Neel (Bowles) Terwilliger and moved to the West Michigan area in 2004. On January 23, 2009, Jim married the former Carol Lynne Hillsamer and she survives him. Jim worked at General Motors as an electrician for more than thirty years, prior to his retirement in 2003. Jim and Carol attended Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall. He was a member of Sons of American Legion Post 69, VFW Men’s Auxiliary #3856, Fox Lake Rod and Gun Club, and the White Lake Eagles. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap. Jim had been a Harley rider for many years and also loved to spend time in his garden. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; daughter, Sydney (Jason) Davis of Mt. Pleasant; step-children, Greg (Stefanie) Fessenden of Brethren, MI, Betsy (Grant) Murchison of Romeo, MI, and Sarah Fessenden of Muskegon; granddaughter, Nora Davis; step granddaughters, Faith and Winter Fessenden (and one on the way); brothers, Robert Terwilliger of Whitehall and Richard (Nancy) Terwilliger of Eagle, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Rebecca. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 707 Alice St. in Whitehall, with Pastor Jim Eggert officiating. VISITATION will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Johnson Family Cancer Center.
