Jean Hoffer

June 5, 1935 - March 29, 2022

Mrs. Jean Hoffer, age 86, of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 5, 1935, in Muskegon to Francis and Margaret (Fielstra) Bourdo. On April 11, 1964, she married Robert Hoffer in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2005. Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, spending time in her garden and loved being with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her five children: Rev. Steven Hoffer of Las Vegas, Dale (Renee) Hoffer of Grand Haven, Joyce (Bryan) Outman of Lake City, David (Julie) Hoffer of Grand Rapids, and Daniel (Colleen) Hoffer of North Muskegon; eight grandchildren: Ryan (Andrea), Emily, Leah (Tyler), Eric, Jake, Ben, Keleigh, and Collin; two sisters, Joan Cook and Jill (Tom) Archambeau; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary, brother, Jack Bourdo, sister, Judy Wade; and brother-in-law, Michael Cook. A MEMORIAL MASS will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Hoffer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Jean may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic School.
