Lyla Marie Sahnow

April 27, 1929 - March 21, 2022

On March 21, 2022, Lyla Marie Sahnow (Stiles) passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Lyla was born April 27, 1929, to Laurence and Henrietta (Connor) Stiles in Detroit Michigan. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1947. On May 22, 1981, she married Martin Sahnow. Lyla was a warm, kind and compassionate person. She always had an open door for all of her family and friends. She had a talent for sewing and was an incredible cook. Lyla enjoyed being out in her garden, singing, dancing, Detroit Tigers baseball, University of Michigan sports, playing bridge, traveling and golfing. She even got a hole in one! Lyla always put her family first. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Martin; her children: David (Nancy) Wells of Twin Lake, Cyndi Flowers of Fort Myers, FL, Patricia (Steven) Burke of Twin Lake, Joan Cole of Rockford, Martin’s children: David (Karla) Sahnow of Baltimore, MD, and Steven (Elaine) Sahnow of Grandville. Grandchildren: Lindsey Wells, Tyler Wells, Nicole Lieberman, Kris Lieberman, Brandon Olah, LeAnn Olah, Lisa Cole, Jeffrey Cole, Owen Sahnow, Perry Sahnow, Naomi Sahnow, Rebeka Sahnow, James Sahnow and Jeremy Sahnow. Greatgrandchildren: Rio Dunn, Jersey Dunn, Rory Dunn, Lola Villareal, Tenley Cole and Harper Cole. Brother: Richard (Sandra) Stiles of Sacramento, CA. Nieces: Marnie Carvalho and Donica Stiles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Henrietta, sister Joan Stiles and son in law, Marv Flowers. There will be a memorial gathering for friends and family at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church, 1200 Seminole Rd., on May 14, 2022, at 11am.
