Marilyn Lee Woodard (Smith) of Spring Lake, age 84, passed away suddenly at home April 25, 2022. Marilyn was born January 16, 1938, and married Robert Woodard on December 19, 1959. Robert and Marilyn were soul mates and enjoyed a life of love for 63 years. Marilyn treated everyone around her like family and was known for her beautiful gardens, wonderful cooking, and warm and welcoming hugs. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Robert Woodard; daughters: Christi “Cre” Woodard (Mark Ringlever), Jacquelyn Woodard-Russell, Amy Lindenbaum (who preceded her in death), and Shannon Locke; grandchildren: Nathan Lindenbaum (Lauren), Emily Apone (Dan), Jacob Russell, and Logan Locke; great-granddaughter, Amelia Lindenbaum; sister, Jan Thompson; and brothers: Allen Smith and Norman Smith. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards establishing a garden in memory of Marilyn and her passion for gardening.
