Nathan J. "Turtle" Parsons
August 2, 1996 - January 29, 2022
Nathan J. “Turtle” Parsons, age 25, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, January 29, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born into this world on August 2, 1996 with congenital heart issues and was a strong-willed warrior from the start. He was born to James Parsons and Leeanne Stewart in Grand Haven, MI, but was raised by his mother and stepfather, Timothy Stewart. Nate was a jack of all trades but was well versed in all aspects of construction. He worked for about 8 years in the construction business. Turtle was a true outdoorsman and loved to go fishing and hunting. He genuinely loved just being outdoors taking in all nature had to offer. He was infamous for showing off his “guns” while flexing for a photo or during a round of arm wrestling. If he wasn’t arm wrestling, you could usually find him playing horseshoes or shooting pool. Above all things, Nate loved his family unconditionally and held them of top priority in his heart. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished Sunday dinners, family cookouts and bantering with his siblings during card nights. He was a proud father, loving son, wonderful brother, caring boyfriend, fun uncle, and dear friend to so many. Nate was a goofball and could easily fill a room with laughter. His free-spirited soul balanced with the perfect amount of stubbornness will be forever missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Leeanne (Timothy) Stewart; girlfriend, Becca Hatinger; 4 children, Cole James Parsons, Cali Joy Parsons, Everett James David Vasquez and Esme Elaine Parsons; siblings, Megan (Caleb) Chapin, Morgan (Michael) Morrall, Amanda (Tommy) Swanson, Riley Stewart, Rachel Stewart and Nicole Stewart; nieces and nephews, Addison, Calen, Abbigail, Remington, Jocelyn, Easton, Hoyt, Maverick, Juniper, Mayci and Baker; mother of Cole and Cali, Abby Wilson; mother of Everett, Angelica Vasquez; numerous aunts and uncles; grandparents and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Parsons. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 4:00PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a visitation one-hour prior. A visitation with the family will be held from 5-8:00PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at The Lee Chapel.
