Dan,
It's been 3 years since u past and i still can't get my head around it. there are times that i catch myself staring at random people and thinking is that booth? then i remember. there are days i just wish i could see that wonderful smile of urs. U touched my life so much, and i'm glad that i did get to know u, the day u came to whitehall and we just hit it off. lol. u were a wonderful friend. and I still miss u as much as i did the day i found out u had died. i hope u are at peace with our heavenly father.##imported-begin##Billie Zuniga##imported-end##

I am the mother that Billie introduced Dan to, many moons ago when I went up to the school. From that time on, whenever I went up to the school, Dan would always say, "I know who you are. You are Billie June's mom!'....you always did carry a smile....I can't remember what number crush you were in Billie's life....but I spent a while reading your name all over her school books. You were such a good friend of hers....I am glad that she had you in her life. I am also very glad that we ran in to you at the court house and Billie made me stop the van midway in to the road so she could jump out and give you that big hug..one of many she has given you, but the last one for now...We could never have figured that a couple of days later you would be gone. My hope is that your death will influence a lot of your friends who are going down the road of drugs, that what happened to you can happen to any of them. I believe your death will save the life of some of those that you have left behind. May you rest in peace and may your family's pain and suffering be short lived.....at least the depth of it....and especially for your mom....the saddest thing for a mother to do is to out live her children and have to put them to rest....may she find peace knowing you are in Heaven with Our Heavenly Father.##imported-begin##June L. I only knew Dan for a short time through working at CDG. He came in periodically just to stop in. He was always smiling and had such beautiful eyes, everyone in the office talked about them. I'm so saddened hearing about his loss. We lost another friend (Ricky Quintero) not that long ago. I know they knew each other. Two lives cut short way too soon. I have an 8 year old son myself and it makes me think about how something so tragic can happen to anybody, it's so scary. I feel so much for you and only can imagine how you feel. Just know that Dan was and always will be a great guy. He was a sweet and loving person. I and many will always miss him. This is surprising and unwanting news of something I do not want to hear. I lost a friend prior to both of these two young men. I can't take anymore. I know that you don't know me but please accept my condolences because I mean them from the deepest of my heart. To the Family of Daniel:
I was one of Daniel's sixth grade teachers on the Hollywood Hounddog team at Reeths-Puffer Intermediate School. I work with about 80 students each year, and many kids have come and gone since I knew Daniel, but he stands out in my memory as a very happy, always smiling kid. He was often playful. One day when he was the first student entering the room returning from lunch, he accidently startled me (from some deep thought, I guess). I jumped and he laughed, and for the rest of the year he made a hobby of thinking of new, sneaky ways to startle me, many of which succeeded. I am very saddened to learn that Daniel's life was cut short. I'm sure that God blessed your lives and the lives of many others, with Daniel. May these blessings be everlasting!
