Donna M. O'Connor's Obituary
Mrs. Donna M. O’Connor, age 80, passed away Wednesday evening, August 11, 2004, at Hackley Hospital. She was born June 15, 1924 in LeRoy, Michigan to Robert W. & Thursa M. (Langworthy) Stacey and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1946. Donna was a 1941 graduate of LeRoy High School, a 1943 graduate of Olivet Nazarene College and went on to receive her Masters Degree from the University of Michigan in 1965. Donna also went on to obtain her Real Estate Brokers License and her Real Estate Builder’s License; and in 1966 established O’Connor Real Estate. Donna loved her profession and was still very active with it. “Retirement” and “Getting Old” weren’t part of her vocabulary; in fact, Donna inspired everyone she came in contact with – to do their “very best” in life. Education and her business were always a priority to Donna. She was a fantastic Business Woman, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandma and Friend. She will be dearly missed. On September 5, 1942 she married Edward J. O’Connor and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Debra A. O’Connor and infant brother Alee Stacey. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Dolores M. O’Connor of Laguna Woods, CA, Robert E. (Mary) O’Connor of Norton Shores and Edward (Isla) O’Connor of Anaheim Hills, CA; 3 grandchildren, Robert E. (Catherine) O’Connor of Gilbert,AZ, Michael (Patricia) O’Connor of Muskegon and Timothy (Joy) O’Connor of Simpsonville, SC; 2 great-grandchildren, R.J. and Victoria O’Connor; 1 brother, Durard (Dottie) Stacey of Galesburg, MI; 1 sister, Dorothy Jean Ochs of Muskegon and several dear nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES will be 11AM Monday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, 231-726-5210 with Pastor Paul Bengston officiating. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery.
