Ron was a truly unique individual. Funny, caring and bright, he was one of my dearest friends and I am forever grateful for the time that I was able to spend with him at work, out to eat, or at a ballgame. He and Sharron always felt like family. He will be missed.
My heart has been broken in more ways than I knew possible. Thank you for being my beloved parent. For all the fun, laughs, quips, asides, jokes and for bursting into song when the lyrics struck the moment. Thanks for all the grilling at pool parties, up to the minute weather reports, driving instructions, moving me in and out of dorms and apartments and sending me off to California. Then always welcoming me home with high anticipation and warmth. Your support in every way helped to shape me and my life. I can hear you call me “the Stacer” and our phones calls ending with “I love you dear”. I’ll forever miss you.
Ron was my beloved and cherished husband. While my heart is shattered, my great comfort is in knowing Ron is now whole again in Heaven. We know that God blessed us, and gave us the greatest privilege to have met and married each other for our life time here for over 30 years.
Ron had a marvelous humor and loved to make me laugh, and everyone else also. His use of words were witty and funny, and always right on cue. Ron loved family, and that included any and all who could come for countless family celebrations preferably with a pool party. He loved to be the first to know the weather for the day, and show me the weather patterns with his hand (Michigan ya'know). I will miss my daily weather reports. We would Boiler Up!! and Hammer Down!! for decades of Purdue basketball and football games at Purdue. Tailgating was a way to make friends become family, and Ron delighted in it all. Ron would wear his 'Black and Gold' always, no matter how the teams faired. Home games were the Detroit Tigers and Whitecaps. We celebrated our 30th Wedding anniversary with the Whitecaps. Our kids having the PA making the announcement. Delightful surprise!
The memories keep coming back and the ones with Ron are always full of joy, love and laughter. I will miss you beyond words.
I have great memories of when we were kids and my family would go to Uncle George and Aunt Martha’s house for Easter. Ron was so much fun, and entertained us younger cousins with his humor and his trombone.
While I didn’t spend as much time with him as an adult as I would have liked, whenever I did see him, Ron still had that same sense of humor, smile, and fun loving personality.
Ron was a great human being, and I have to believe he touched the lives of everyone he knew.
Ron was a dear friend. From the time we met in 98’ at Johnstone, our passion for bball and football bonded us together. I’d get my updates on Purdue and OSU athletics from “WRON, you heard it hear first!” 😄 Let me tag along to many Purdue games. We’d call Jamie on the way home to talk about the game. So many fond memories! He meant so much to me. I miss him dearly. Thank you for your confidence in me Ron. Love ya buddy
