I would like to say to the family and closest friends of Gwen that my prayers and thoughts go out to you all. I knew Gwen at Muskegon High School and we graduated together. I just learned of her passing today and was deeply saddened. We did not keep in touch after high school. We went our separate ways but I felt she would always be a positive inspiration to all those who lives she would cross.

My thoughts of Gwen is that she was a positive and heart-warming friend in high school. She always made me laugh and was a joy to be around. She was a positive and strong woman who did not waver in her beliefs and convictions. I only have fond and positive memories of her. So many happy thoughts of Gwen came to my heart when I heard of your loss. Gwen and I were class mates at Muskegon and we had many good times. No one could ask for a better friend! I only wish we had stayed in touch more often in the last 30 years. She has always been close to my heart and will always remain there. Gwen was a very caring lady. I am very fortunate to have known her, she was the greatest boss, a role model and guardian to me. Gwen you will be missed, I love you but God loves you more. I met Gwen Walton about 9 years ago, I found her easy to warm up to, she was cordial and pleasant. Gwen had a great sense of humor I always enjoyed talking to her. Gwen possessed a myriad of positive attributes. Gwen's nature was one of integrity, she had an honest personality, she was professional, respectful and took her work seriously. Gwen seemed to have a six sense about her that enable her to navigate complex issues proficiently.
Gwen was an asset to the Grand Valley Community, not only have we suffered a great loss, but the loss of such a good and decent human being is a loss to the whole world. God had blessed me to have known Gwen for the past 18 years. She was truly an inspriration to me as well as the students and faculty here at GVSU. I will always remember her as a person who treated people as if they were what they had ought to be, and was always willing to help them to become what they were capable of becoming.
