I recently found out Leonard passed away. I met him when I worked at Meijer in Grand Haven and we became great friends. I have missed him as I moved from the area 3 years ago. We have fond memories of Leonard dating back to 1979, the year we were married. Our first home was on West 17th Street in Holland, a short distance from the Montgomery Ward store where Leonard sold us our first vacuum cleaner (which we still have today), and various other appliances thereafter. We have since moved to Grand Haven where our paths have continued to cross with Leonard. We have appreciated his letters to the editor over the years, and have enjoyed chatting with him during shopping visits at Meijer. Leonard was certainly a man of very strong convictions, with a passion for our nation and for a return to Christian values.
