Margaret D. O'Keefe's Obituary
Mrs. Margaret D. O’Keefe, age 90, passed away Friday morning, April 22, 2005 at her home. She was born November 10, 1914 in Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada and lived in the Eastern U.S. most of her life before moving to the Muskegon area 25 years ago. She graduated from Bloomfield College’s School of Nursing and had worked as a registered at Presbyterian Hospital in Newark, NJ. The former Margaret Philemena Dolan, she married Thomas J. O’Keefe on January 14, 1939 in New Jersey and he preceded her in death in 1974. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Thomas Michael (Deanna) O’Keefe of Machias, ME, Paul John (Mary) O’Keefe of Chesapeake, VA, Kathleen E. (Michael) Brennan of New Bloomfield, PA, Eileen E. (Ron) Pannucci of North Muskegon, Patricia A. (Don) Wescott of Fruitport; 21 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren with 2 “on the way”; and 2 nieces. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, John “Jack” Dolan. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert A. Hart as Celebrant and the Rev. Fr. Ernest J. Bernott as Concelebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
