One of the most beautiful memories I will have in this life is watching my son walking on the pier with his Grand-uncle Mel. I know my father, Mel's brother Bob, was looking down from Heaven and smiling. We miss you and love you. Our prayers and thoughts are with you to this day Aunt Bev, John , Angie and Sherry.

Mel was my first supervisor when I joined the Corps of Engineers in 1976. He was a great supervisor and helped me with learning new skills and advancing my career with the Corps. He always displayed a professional attitude and a respect for other people. He also seemed to be concerned about the safety of those in his charge, along with getting the job done accurately and efficiently.
Mel was a great role model. I know he will be missed by many people, who’s lives he touched.
