Patsy Sue (Bates) Carney's Obituary
Patsy Sue (Bates) Carney, age 76, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 20, 2020. She was born July 1, 1943 in Muskegon to Archie and Edith (Lilli) Bates and lived in the area her entire life. On June 11, 1960, she married John H. Carney, Sr. in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2016. Patsy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Muskegon South East Congregation. Patsy was a very proud homemaker and her family was her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include 4 children, Tina (Mike) Buchbinder, John (Sherri) Carney, Jr., Angela Carney, Michael (Irma) Carney; 7 grandchildren, Anthony Carney, Briseis Carney, Justin Smith, Cody (Emily) Smith, Kylaar Manfredine, Braylon Carney, Xavier Carney; 5 great grandchildren, Jayde, Lyric, Hendryx, Acey, Liam; 3 brothers, Jack (Sherry) Bates, Bruce Bates, Dale (Diane) Bates; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, John, she was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Douglas, Norman, and 2 sisters, Shirley and Ramona. A Memorial Service will be held via Zoom Meetings at 1:30 PM Saturday, May 30, 2020. If you would like a Zoom Meeting invitation, please contact the family.
