Ron taught me to look outside of my personal boundaries, that all opinions matter, and everyone has something to contribute. From the moment we first met, Ron was both inspiring and challenging. I've been thinking about how to follow his example and how I can impact others, as Ron has impacted me. His legacy will live on in those he touched and I can only aspire to have the faith and freedom that Ron enjoyed. Words cannot express how deeply I will miss our connection and friendship. He was the Capt. after all, and sang a mean Billy Joel to boot.
Nancy: I have never met a more devoted person, and I always loved hearing about your great love affair! Ron loves you will all of his heart, and I know that he is looking after you now.
One time, at band camp (ok while visiting an equipment manufacturer in Ontario), we crossed the border at Port Huron and I had stashed some Cuban Cigars to take back to the US as a birthday gift for my Dad. When the border agent asked Ron if he had any Cuban cigars, his reply was "Nooooooo, I don't have ANY Cuban cigars, Aimee, Do Yooooooooooou have any Cuban Cigars"? The good news is that I avoided a strip search, however the lesson is to never smuggle product across the border with a do-gooder.
Arghhhh... Capt. Ron, you will be missed!
