Stanley 'Gene' Warner's Obituary
Mr. Stanley Eugene Warner, age 63, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Muskegon. He was born September 26, 1942, in Marytown, WV to Vernell Lofton and Evelyn Louise Warner, and had lived in Muskegon for the past 40 years. Stanley was employed by MichCon for 17 years before retiring in 1999, and prior to that had worked for Dobb Trucking. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Vietnam Conflict aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, and later active in the Michigan Army National Guard. Stanley was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was the former first commander of VFW Post #7729. He volunteered at the VFW supervising community service hours and was part of the Honor Guard for the Muskegon County Council and the American Legion. Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his former wives, Katherine Warner and Sandra Mejia; 2 daughters, Trudy Warner and Crystal Warner; 1 grandson, Kenan Warner; 1 brother, Lloyd (Flora) Warner; 2 sisters, Gloria (Thomas) Davis and Beverly (Marshall) Gee; his Uncle Louis; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Carol. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 10:30AM Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Zion Baptist Church (375 School) with Rev. David Rogers officiating. FULL MILITARY RITES will follow the service at 12 NOON at VFW #7729 (6285 E. Apple Ave.) under the auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council.
