William F. "Bill" O'Leary's Obituary
Mr. William Frank O’Leary, age 82, passed away Monday afternoon, April 11, 2011 at the Mercy VNS Hospice Residence. Bill was born October 2, 1928 in Chicago, IL to William T. and Lucylle (Kramer) O’Leary. He was an assistant master mechanic for the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago. Bill worked in their employ for 22 years, retiring in 1988. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic Ocean from 1950-1954. He later married the former Nancy Thompson and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2008. Bill was a member of White Lake Baptist Church and also belonged to the United States Power Squadron. Bill is survived by his 2 sons, Thomas (Lisa) O’Leary of Corpus Christie, TX and Joseph O’Leary of Cedar Lake, IN; 2 step-children, Carol (Dave) Lumpkins of Chicago and Don (Mei Ling) Clemens of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, Bethany, Jessica and Michael O’Leary; David Lumpkins Jr., Paul (Margaret) Lumpkins, Kimberly (Adrian) Graham and Jonathan Lumpkins; Nicholas, Nathan and Allison Clemens; 4 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, LuLu and Taz. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Elizabeth, and his brother, John. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2011 at White Lake Baptist Church (5280 Dowling St. in Montague) with Pastor Steve Rodenburg officiating. Burial will be made in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Pound Buddies, Mercy VNS Hospice or White Lake Baptist Church.
