Miss Barb and my mom met forty years ago, and became close friends right away. When the two of them introduced each others' husbands, then the four of them really became close friends. I fondly remember spending each Saturday during my childhood and adolescence at Barb and Jim's house (or them at our house) while the four of them played cards and laughed together.They were such a shining example of what friendship looks like. Barb was always such a kind, warm, generous and considerate host every time we were in their home, even if we just popped over unexpectedly to say hi or for a quick visit. She treated me with the same respect as she treated everyone else, even though I was just a child. I will remember her with a smile on her face, the one that she always greeted us with each time we saw her.
