To whoever is responsible for the obituary information, Susan and I very much appreciate that you included our names in the list of surviving relatives. It meant very much to us considering how many relatives she has that were not mentioned. We are sorry that we can not attend at this time.
The last time I saw Tina was in 2021 for her parents 55th wedding anniversary. After the rememberence at the church we were all over at Tina and Kevin's house for a bite to eat and some enjoyable conversation. After awhile it became necessary for me to leave because I had to go to Saginaw to visit some friends before I headed home to Georgia. It was maybe the only time all 7 kids and their spouses and the parents were all gathered in one place at the same time since they became adults, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favorite times in the military have been the many parades just a few of us volunteered for, before everyone expected to be paid for them. Tina and Kevin could always be counted on. Sadly, when Tina left the unit, everyone stopped volunteering. When no one volunteers, morale for us full timers goes down. At least it did for me. I was definitely sad to see her leave the Army. As I was very sad to hear of her passing. She brought a lot of joy to others and I know she will be missed by many. Sending my condolences to Kevin and the rest of her family. I know this pain will take time to heal.
Tina and I met in the summer of 1993 while we were both on active duty stationed at Ft. Eustis, VA. She was an 88K Watercraft Operator and I was an 88L Watercraft Engineer. My previous MOS (Method of Service) was as a 94B Food Service Specialist. My first 2 1/2 years was spent being a cook for the mechanised infantry in Germany. For a time when we first got together it was just the 2 of us. She was doing the majority of cooking. She of course came from a large family, there were 7 brothers and sister plus her parents. She was cooking a lot of food when we were first together, which led to a lot of leftovers and waste. I finally told her one day that she needed to pare down her recipes because she was cooking too much for just us. Her reply was “You know I come from a large family, you just don’t understand what it’s like trying to cook for an army then just having to cook for one or two.” my mouth kinda dropped open a little and I just stared at her for a second. “Do you realise what you just said to me?!?! ….i was a cook……literally……in the army!! I miss her more than words can say
