Mr. John M. “Jack” Braun, age 85, passed away at home, Monday evening, September 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Fruitport, born June 3, 1929 to John H. and Dorothy C. (Balcom) Braun; and served in Read Obituary

Memories! Do I have memories? Where do you start when you have known someone like Jack for 72 years? We had so much fun together. Daytona 500, Kentucky Derby, Florida auto auctions buying cars, back in the "50,s" driving old US Rt. 16 to Detroit to buy cars and bring them back. Cocktails anywhere and everywhere. Ribs at my house and his. He was always smiling, always pleasant to be around. Going to school with he and Bill was an education in itself! We will miss you Jack, the "KING OF CARS" is gone. My thoughts and prayers to Pat, the Braun girls, and the Braun Family. May your Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother rest in peace. So sorry to hear about Jacks going home to all his loved ones who have gone before him. His pain has ended and he will live on in your hearts and in all the memories that you have of him. I have fond memories of visiting or stopping at the car lot when I was a "kid" with my Dad (Beav)
Jack was always so jovial and welcoming- and you could tell he meant it!
They were both "Big Guys" with smiles and hearts 3 times bigger.

I love John Braun's comment by Dr. Seuss! How perfect ... Jack Braun "happened" in many of our lives. So many of us have so many memories of his laughter, his smile, the twinkle in his eyes, his... you know he's up to something look he would get on his face! No matter how long ago it was, or wasn't, he had that very special enthusiasm for life, friends and family that make us all look back and remember how blessed we are to have known him. Just seeing his picture in this on-line obituary makes me smile. It brings back memories of old times, days that have gone by. Thanks Jack for warming my heart once again. Special love and sympathy to you Candy, Debbie, Val & Pat. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Go forward knowing you will see him again one day. :)
