Dan & Family: We are very saddened to hear about Joni's passing. Although we lived miles apart and didn't see each other very often we will always remember those "good old days" at MSU. (It was Joni who arranged for both of us to be at the same party and here we are married over 32 years). We all had some fun times when we lived in St. Louis - remember that trip to Hannibal, MO?! And we still talk about our visit when you guys lived in Puerto Rico. Joni will be fondly remembered as a great friend, wife and mother. Stay strong and God bless you all.##imported-begin##Barb & Rick Nordness##imported-end##
Elaine, I am saddened to hear about your mom. I remember her to be such a kind-hearted woman. Take heart in the wonderful memories you've shared with her. My prayers are with you and your family. Mrs. Sowles (Lakeshore Middle School)##imported-begin##Linda Sowles##imported-end##
Dear Dan & Family, Joni was one of the nicest girls to ever grace the halls of Mancelona High School. We cheered together and laughed a LOT. She knew the important things in life: God, Family, Friends. I hope you allow those things to comfort you in your sadness.##imported-begin##Patti (Edson) Steinberg##imported-end##
Dear Elaine and Daniel,
I will always remember your mother and her beautiful smile and laugh. She brought a ray of sunshine with her when she came into the Central School office when you both were young students there.
May your loving memories of her bring you peace and comfort.
Fondly,
Mrs. J (Karen Jungslager)##imported-begin##Karen Jungslager##imported-end##

"The license plate on Karen’s car says “ATTA 2D” – Attitude. And when I think about Joni, I think about her POSITIVE attitude. When Karen & I moved back to Michigan and we were looking for a church, Joni is one of the first Church of the Dune members we met. Her greeting and the attitude she exhibited are reasons we joined this church. Later, when I was asked to serve on the Mission and Social Concerns commission, it was Joni’s leadership and positive attitude that was the deciding factor to try something I hadn’t done before. What followed the example set by Joni, is a desire to “want & try to be better”. She had that impact on most of us around her. Finally, just a few weeks ago it was Joni that gave me a HUG after church (rather than the other way around), even with my bad memory I will not forget. Joni, your ATTA-2D will always be part of Church of the Dunes and me." Dave H##imported-begin##Dave & Karen Hoffman##imported-end##
