My thoughts and prayers go out to Jo's family and friends. I am so sad to hear of her passing. Jo and I became good friends during her time spent in Copper Harbor at Freedom Village. The unit has never been the same without her, we were all very sad to see her move to Grand Haven. She brought such joy and inspiration to all of us who took care of her. I was fortunate to have spent some time with Jo on her birthday and never expected it to be my last visit. I just want to express to Jo's family, how very sorry I am to hear about your loss. Jo was a very special lady to me. I am one of the aides from Freedom Village, and it was such a pleasure knowing her. We shared many wonderful conversations; she always blessed me, and encouraged me in ways I will never forget. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family. We can appreciate the fact that to lose a loved one in death makes us feel helpless and empty. Although your loved one lived a long life death is still an enemy. But our God and Heavenly Father promised that he will actually swallow up death forever (Isaiah 25:8) and that he will resurrect those who have fallen asleep in death (John 5:28&29) These scriptures and others bring us comfort and encouragement because this is what the Bible really teaches.
