I am truly stunned by the news of Laurie’s passing.
I am only comforted by the thought that she will carry on in my memory.
The journeys on the grade school bus, the birthday parties and of a peaceful childhood that was our corner of Michigan.

Being unable to attend Saturday's memorial service, I received many emails from friends who were in Michigan and able to attend Laurie's service. They told me Laurie's memorial was very well done, beautiful, poignant, and moving, though of course sad.
Laurie was an incredibly compassionate woman who will never be forgotten and personally will be missed so much.
My sincere sympathies go out to you. I have written personal notes to you expressing my deep friendship with Laurie. We are all grieving with you.

Laurie, I met your mom and brother today. I told your mom what you once told me, that she was the "rock" of your family, the took on her face was priceless. Your brother was very nice to talk to too. We shared a few laughs. Your service was beautiful, of course I cried. So many of your pictures were displayed. How beautiful you were in the wedding you were part of, I don't know whose, but your hair looked GREAT. Who am I going to share hair stories with anymore? I'm going to miss those silly talks. I met Laurie through the Ypsilanti Community Band in 1989. She and I both played bassoon, and became friends. Our careers followed the same arc, having both been secretaries with college degrees, then getting into Computer Support. i didnt realize how much i would miss my aunt laurie. we never got to see her much at all during the years and im glad to have seen her on this past thanksgiving and christmas. not a persn comes to mind that could fill in for my aunt laurie she was the most kind caring and gentle persn i knew. she always had love to give and im happy she had a place for me in her heart. i will miss her truly and remember her always. much love for her and my grandparents.##imported-begin##Mitch Hendrick##imported-end##

I met Laurie when she began working in Pediatric Radiology. She became my office equipment mentor. She would confidentialy assure me that I could conquer the "electronic beasts" and I did!
I will always remember her smile, demeanor, terrific attitude and the chats and lunches we shared.
I know she had a great and loving reunion with Jesus Christ our Lord!
She will always be remembered and missed by those who loved her and were allowed to share a space in her heart.

Laurie and I had worked together @ the U of M for a few years. We had gotten to be really close. We have a lot of funny memories together, and our favorite of course, was breakfast in the cafeteria!
I will miss her.
