I'm sorry for your loss. Your Mom and Dad were both great people. I always enjoyed swimming and sledding on your hill. Your Mom was great about letting me swim, except for the time I dove in and my dog Sam followed me in the water (to rescue me, I guess.) Loretta always made me feel like one of the family. I think I spent two thirds of my childhood "up the hill". I was never once told to go home, so I simply stayed as much as possible. I loved all the cookouts and Christmas Eves. "Mrs. McKee" would make me nightgowns for Christmas. I'd wear them for years, til they were in shreds, then put a tshirt under them so I could keep wearing the shreds. Although they were always beautiful, the color or style of those nightgows never mattered to me. I loved them so much because they were from her. And one year she made me a jewelry box. I still have it. My daughter now calls it my "treasure box" because it has shiny gold hinges and lettering. To the family...I'm sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. Know that she lives on in every life she touched.
