I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Allen. I always enjoyed visiting with Allen and Bea whenever I visited my mom on Clover Ct. I was treated to produce from their garden, the latest weather reports and conditions for me when returning to CA, and stories of their family, their adventures in Grand Haven and the latest happenings in the neighborhood. After my dad died, Allen was so supportive in helping my mom with questions that she had re: the car, yard, visiting raccoons, etc. My family all agrees that Allen and Bea have been the perfect neighbors and the nicest of friends. My heartfelt sympathies are extended to Bea, Cliff, Bill, Nancy and their families and to little Duffie. Allen will certainly be missed by many.

Susan and I are saddened by the news that Al is no longer with us, but his passing does bring to mind the wonderful neighborhood we had on Clover Court, with Al and Bea across the street, the Beshgetoor's next door, and the Trout's in between. It was the only true neighborhood that Susan and I have lived in during our adult life, and Al was the principle reason. He was a terrific neighbor to me when I first moved there (1979) and then to Susan and me, when we were married (1984). Al had such a good nature - although I'm sure we tested him a bit when we started building demolition derby cars in the driveway. I hope his secret supply of banned pesticides has been properly disposed of by now :). He loved his family, he loved his dog (s?), he loved our dog (Ozzie), and loved life. He will not only be missed, but we will think of him often.
