Nancy was our flower girl for our wedding, July 11, 1964. She had never met us until the day of the wedding. My husband, Ray, and her dad are first cousins. Such a sweet little girl. She was so pretty in her dress similar to mine and an actual short bridal veil. She didn’t know us but was excited to do her part in the ceremony. So serious until the kiss and then she was all smiles and fun. On their way back to Michigan she told Ann she wanted to buy me a gift. They stopped at a little shop and she picked out a butterfly broach. Ann pointed out one stone was missing. Nancy insisted that she knew I would love it. I have treasured it and still have it almost 58 years later. I have thought about her often. The description of her in the obituary article confirms to me that her sweet loving spirit lasted her lifetime.
