I played hockey with Neil (Bunny to us) in 1972-3 in Humboldt. We also played a ton of golf years when Bunny would come home for the summers. May he test in peace. He was a very nice guy. Always smilin’. My condolences Fred. RIP #15.
Reading all of these stories makes my heart swell with pride. Neil was my older cousin, and was always special. Never too busy to share a good laugh with. Tim and I would visit when he, and then he and Joni would return for summers. Always a good time and lots of good food. I wish you could’ve come home more often. Take care Joni & Nigel.
Neil's passing is, indeed, very sad news...I worked with Neil from 2013-2015 as an usher, box office attendant, and, finally, as the Business Manager for the Arena and Muskegon Lumberjacks. Neil was the quiet and unassuming caretaker and caregiver of the Arena. May God bless him and keep him. May God embrace his family and friends and all who mourn his passing.
On Behalf of the Humboldt Broncos Alumni we extend our sincere condolences to all the Hawryliw Family.
In particular the 1971-72 and 1972-73 Humboldt Broncos send their sincere love and admiration to a beloved teammate who let his goal scoring do the talking.
Take care "Bunny"!
