My parents, Ed & Edna DeVries, lived on Meurer Ct. for almost 50 years, next door to the home that Phyllis moved into. Phyllis was a wonderful neighbor to them, bringing them home baked treats often. My parents moved away in 1997 to be near me in St. Joseph, and my mom died last winter. We had a memorial service for my mom at Lakeside Cemetery this spring, and Phyllis was there. It was so nice of her to come, and it was wonderful to see her after all of these years. I will always remember her friendliness & kindness to my parents. I extend my deepest sympathy to all of her family.##imported-begin##Darlene Kiessel##imported-end##
I am so sorry for your loss. Phyllis was a good friend to my mom, Doris Pietrala, and I am sure she will be missed by all of her family. Sincerely, Connie Pietrala##imported-begin##Connie Pietrala##imported-end##
Paul, Shelley and Terri:
Bryan informed me of Phyllis passing and I am deeply saddened by the cicumstances.
She taught me to listen better and to be more patient. I remember hitting golf balls with her when she wanted to get "serious" about it.
I am sorry I could not be there, but please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Regards,

Dear Paul, Michelle and Terri, I am so sorry about the death of your mother. We used to live next door to you on Blodgett st. I have many fond memories of your mom and dad. I used to babysit for you. I live in Grand Rapids. I will soon retire from 30 years of teaching in G.R public schools. It has been a long time, but I wish you well. My parents passed away several years ago, and I know that it is difficult to lose parents. Take care and God bless. Pam House Nelson##imported-begin##pam house nelson##imported-end##
Paul, Michelle & Terri, I was very sadden to read about your Mother's passing. I wasn't able to come to her funeral, but wanted to let you know what a good friend she was to my Mom, Doris Pietrala. They spent many hours together playing golf & cards. After my Mom had her surgery & stroke, Phyllis would visit her at Nelson Place & take her to church at St. Jeans. The last time I saw her was at my Mom's funeral, March 20th. You are all in my thoughts & prayers. Diann Hawes##imported-begin##Diann Hawes##imported-end##
We are sending our prayers and thoughts to Phyllis' family. Phyllis lived next door to our father Levi Jourden. She was always so friendly and so thoughtful to us all, especially our Dad. She brought him cookies, soup, etc. and always inquired about his health. When he passed away in April of this year she called and was so helpful with her words of encouragement. She was a very dear, dear lady and she will be missed.
Please accept our sympathy...

Phyllis and I both worked at GTE. After we both retired, we renewed our friendship on the golf course. She and I spent many happy hours hitting golf balls. She was so much fun, and I enjoyed her sense of humor. After the golf season, a group of us meet for dinner each month. I knew her telephone number by heart, and I will really miss her.##imported-begin##Dorothy Jones##imported-end##

We were good friends with Phyllis, Scotty, and Olie. Spent 12 years in the fire department with both guys and remember good times we had on several occasions. May God bless this family. We know they are all together again. Fred & Arlene##imported-begin##Fred & F. Arlene Todd##imported-end##
